The Messenger: Time, a 25-foot tall, 38-foot long blue horse sculpture, was unveiled in the Portland neighborhood on Wednesday evening. The 3,300 pound steel sculpture was created by artist BK Adams.
Adams, a self-taught artist from Washington, D.C., hopes the sculpture inspires Louisville's younger generations.
"It speaks to being able to use your mind at a higher degree because I was able to design it from a vision and through my words, saying every day 'we can do it' and we never stopped going until it was complete," Adams said. "The kids need to understand how powerful their words are. What you say is what you'll produce, so it speaks to the kids."
